20 years ago the internet boom began. Online commerce, email, websites and the “internet” began weaving businesses and customers in a new way. Today, the digital landscape is much different than it was 20 years ago. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat have caught fire. Search platforms like Google & YouTube get billions of searches DAILY. The question is, as a business how do you take advantage of these new marketing channels?
When our team generates a new lead one of the first things we do is audit their social media. Why? Because a solid social media foundation is ESSENTIAL for your business in 2019 and will be for years to come. Your social media accounts are the new accreditation of your business. It’s not the yellow pages, a billboard or a radio ad. It’s not even how much revenue you generate. If you are in a position where you want to win over new customers and keep your current ones engaged for years to come, you need to take your digital presence seriously.
A lot of brands are not doing this currently, especially ones who have had it easy for the past twenty years. It’s easy as a business owner to discredit “new ways” of doing things, because you have already created success doing it the “old way”. While you may have done that so far, it doesn’t mean it will hold true into the future. More and more companies are going out of business than ever before because they are too slow to adapt to the new landscape. The worst part about it is the barrier of entry for starting & scaling a business in 2019 is extremely low. Which means that a college dropout with facebook advertising skills, a well put together supply chain and a few cool products can make millions a year doing so.
One thing you need to keep in mind as a business owner is that your future customers are Millennials and Gen Z’s (Being born between the early 90s-2000s). As this younger generation develops they find new ways to create income, have fun and enjoy life. A lot of their time is spent on Social & Search platforms(on average 3-5 hours a day). They accredit most of their purchasing decisions based off of a brands digital presence and ability to target them with relative content. It doesn’t matter if you sell t-shirts or luxury lake yachts, your social media presence matters.
Finding ways to optimize all of your social accounts, website and digital ads are a must. For example, one of our clients that sells luxury lake yachts ranging into the multiple millions of dollars receives 95% of their leads and revenue from our ad campaigns on the social media channels (Instagram & Facebook) & search engines (Google & YouTube). If that doesn’t spark excitement within you than I don’t know what will. The fact that you can reach your entire target demographic for an extremely low cost & keep them engaged through ads, social media posts & automated email campaigns is AWESOME. All it takes is one step. If you are interested in learning more about how you can optimize your digital presence hit the button and fill out the form below.
